Every library has its own take on that, really. You also have to get a feeling for their velocity layers, which is important. Wowsa, I've just given it a try and, yes, Metropolis is really a bit more "euphoric" there, which is kind of endearing in a way, if you use it properly. Especially when layered with other libraries it gets a bit annoying. Has anyone else noticed this? Or could it just be user error on my side? Of course my example shows an extreme case and I wouldn't work like this in an actual mockup, but it still sounds noticeable even when the Midi is a recorded performance and listened to without metronome. You will notice that CSS will play a steady rhythm while Metropolis will sound a stumbling: To make it more obvious, the Midi has not been performed but drawn exactly on grid and supplemented by a metronome. To make this evident, here a short example of Metropolis Low Strings Spiccato and for comparison an example by CSS (which are very tight and precise). I like the sound of Metropolis Ark 1 but I noticed (mostly with the Strings Spiccato patches) that sometimes notes seem to be played a bit delayed or the samples sound a bit choppy in a weird way, leading to a performance that sounds a bit stumbling. Figured this would be the best forum for this question. First thread here (but lurking since a while).
